mca recycles!!!
this is after i painted the
recycling bins
last year, i started a much needed recycling program at
mca.  there are thirteen bins in the school; twelve of these
are for paper only, one is for aluminum, steel, glass and
plastic.  twice a week i collect the contents and drive them
to the local recycling center.
bin locations are as follows:
-graphic design (across from A+ graphics left of trash)
-the shop (below kenny's office window)
-the sleaze and slime: paper only is next to the student
      mailboxes
-the sleaze and slime: plastic, glass, aluminum and steel
only is on the opposite wall
-the mail room (with staff and faculty mailboxes)
-the library (under the paper cutter)
-the administrative offices (next to secretary's desk)
-color lab (second floor) next to balcony door
-faculty offices (third floor) next to copy machine
-the business office (next to the paper shredder)
-the student services/registrar/fin.aid office copy room
-the admissions office (copy room)
-the continuing education office

things accepted at this time-
in "paper only":
computer paper
notebook paper (sketch books too!)
newspaper
magazines
junk mail

in "glass, plastic, aluminum and steel" (everything MUST be empty):
all empty number 1 and 2 plastic containers/bottles (no caps!)
all empty steel containers
all empty aluminum containers
all clear, green, brown and blue glass bottles and jars (no caps!)

things not accepted at this time-
all plastics numbered 3 and higher
corrugated cardboard
paperboard/hardboard
paper towels, tissues, napkins
plastic utensils, plates, glasses
aluminum foil
plastic bags and plastic wrap
lightbulbs, mirrors and window panes

last march i got my first volunteer; he helps with the drop off part.  there
are a couple of collection volunteers but the problem is they are
unreliable.  we need more volunteers or this program will not be
successful.  last year it was very hard to do so much of this by myself.
please put a note in my box at school or
e-mail me if this program is
important to you and you want to help.
