since her face has so many contours, it made the most sense to cut down pieces of leather to be form fitting, like clothing patterns. after cutting the pieces, i pinned them together, trimmed off excess and sewed them together. during this process, i began to see how awesome the form fitting looked, and i knew i had to go back and make the rest of her super form fitted, which was extremely time consuming. this process was difficult because i was sewing pieces that were already attached, so there was almost no way to get behind the leather, making the suture stitch take longer to perform. plus i had to pull my stitches very tightly, to the point that i snapped the thread several times,

this was an idea that didn't really live up to my expectations, so i took it apart and covered it up : )
i cut large pieces out of the body and sewed up the gaps to create a form fitted cover
what are the odds that i would break my last needle when i had only about six hours left of sewing! i had a couple of bent needles that worked alright in my desperate situation
i was standing on that wobbly stool to reach the top, but it seemed unsafe, so i sat on trixie...ok i'll be honest, i have wanted to sit up there for the past nine weeks : )
