fall 2001
these are projects that were made
while i attended Montserrat College
of Art,
during the fall of 2001
these images are of a sculpture i
made in 3-d class.  the concept
was to make an adult version of
the children's game that has little
colored shapes that can be
moved around shaped metal
rods.
the base is constructed of
plywood and then covered
with beer bottle caps.  the
wires are formed into various
shapes (coils, stars, spirals,
etc.) and are threaded with
nuts.  the nuts vary in shape,
color and size; they are
organized by similarity and
grouped onto a rod.
these representations are of
a plaster piece i made in
3-d class.  my goal was to
show the opposition
between a smooth round
form and sharp jagged
points.
19x18.5x15"
9x7.5x6"
4x10x6.25"
24x18"
24x36"
24x19"
this shows a small piece i did for
images and ideas.  it is a cow
covered with images of beef.
there was a chicken that was
covered with pictures of chicken
flesh, and i'm not sure why i don't
have a picture of her.
image of a travel poster, for
graphic design, where we had to
choose a destination no one
would ever want to travel to.  i
choose a  slaughter house.
shows a much more free
self-portrait, using vine charcoal
and broader motions, i really
struggled with this class
image of a self-portrait for life
drawing 1
it's funny to look back at images
and freshman year and see so
much growth
