this depicts (left) an interesting assignment mr. whymark gave us in art II. we drew a still life, cut up the drawing, reassembled it, and then on good paper copied the reassembled drawing, and colored it with prisma colored pencils. my piece was selected to be in a show of high school art at the county board of education. (below) two more in-class assignments for art II (left) a water color about 11 x 14" (below/right) a paper mache gargoyle about 13x24x21"
advanced art 2000-2001 (above) shows a block of wood before i started "chiseling away" it. (left) completed piece in a select local art show the piece has criss-crossing lines of monofilament in the void (right) two views of a ceramic water monster colored with a petina (below) another ceramic piece based on the four seasons and various correlating aspects of nature
Spring 2001 the images to the left show the early stages of a design for the College of Southern Maryland's bookstore of a hawk (the schools mascot). This maquette is about 3'8" wide and 16" tall. The finished piece has a petina similar to the water monster's. Due to cost, the college decided not to have the 20' one fabricated. The maquette was my first real commissioned piece.
these are images of sketches i developed for art II during the 2000-2001 school year. one of the assignments was specifically about hands the other two were not.
